Your first trip to Tokyo, made simple

Who writes this site

TOKYO MAPPED is an independent site run by one person, who writes and checks every page.

How we check information

• We use primary sources first: official websites of shops, transport companies, museums and government offices.
• Pages show a "Last verified" date. We check again when we update a page and before each season.
• When something can't be confirmed, we leave it out rather than guess.

What we don't write

• Exact prices and times. They change often, so we describe them in words (for example "budget" or "a short walk").
• Rules that differ from shop to shop, such as detailed ordering steps.
• Paid recommendations disguised as editorial content.

Translation and AI tools

Pages are written in English and Japanese and then translated into Chinese and Spanish. We may use AI tools to help with translation and first drafts. The operator reviews every page before it is published.

Ads and independence

Ads and affiliate links are labeled "PR". Partners cannot pay to change what we write or how places are ranked.
