Ueno Park

Museums, a zoo and a pond in one of Japan's first parks

Opened in 1873 as one of Japan's first public parks. It holds the Tokyo National Museum, the National Museum of Western Art (a World Heritage building by Le Corbusier), the National Museum of Nature and Science and Ueno Zoo, Japan's oldest zoo. Shinobazu Pond and its Bentendo temple are lovely at any season, and the park is Tokyo's most famous cherry blossom spot.
